GEORGE A. CODDING: IAAI/CFI, NAFI/CFEI – Durango, CO
George A. Codding is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has approximately 25 years of experience investigating fire scenes and determining the origin and cause of fires.
George is also a member and former chair of a county fire investigation team. He is a member of the IAAI and its Colorado Chapter and has served on the board and as President of both organizations. He served as a volunteer firefighter for 27 years, holding the positions of investigator, lieutenant, captain, and battalion chief. He also has experience as a police officer and deputy sheriff.
In addition to performing fire investigations in Colorado, George investigates fires in the states of New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona. George holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. He has organized and implemented training for seven state and international training conferences. George has teaching experience in law, methodology, and scientific/technical topics related to fire investigation in Colorado and other areas of the United States, as well as internationally in English, French, and Spanish. He is an Adjunct Instructor at Pikes Peak State College Regional Law Enforcement Academy.
George is the rewrite author and editor of the 6th Edition of Fire Investigator: Principles and Practice (Jones & Bartlett), which was published in 2022.
JAMES J. CULLEN: IAAI/FIT, NAFI /CFEI – Denver, CO
James Cullen is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He is also a Fire Investigator Technician through the International Association of Arson Investigators. James holds memberships in the National Association of Fire Investigators, and the International Association of Arson Investigators. James began his career in 1995 as an emergency medical technician at St. Anthony Hospital and a firefighter/emergency medical technician with the Federal Heights Fire Department. Since 1999, James has been a member of the Denver Fire Department where he has held the positions of firefighter, hazardous materials technician and currently a fire investigator serving in that capacity for the past 8 years. He is an experienced expert witness.
DANIEL HROUDA: IAAI/CFI, NAFI/CFEI, NAFI/CVFI – Denver, Colorado
Daniel Hrouda is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the fire services industry. Dan has extensive experience in the private sector conducting fire origin and cause investigations for insurance companies and subrogation law firms. In the public sector he has served as a Fire Fighter, Fire Investigator and Assistant Fire Marshal, for multiple departments as well as a serving as Police Officer for the City of Denver. Dan has also served as a Combat Medical Specialist in the U.S. Army. He holds an associate degree in Fire Science Technology from Red Rocks Community College.
